Home Visits

When patients are unable to visit the surgery, home visits can be made by Doctors and District Nurses. It would help us if requests for GP home visits were made before 10am. The telephonist will ask for details of the patient and the problem so that the urgency of the call can be assessed.

Please bear in mind that the doctor can see at least four people in the surgery in the time taken to do one home visit.

Please ensure that you really need a home visit before requesting one. Lack of transport does not constitute a reason for a home visit.

Your Doctor will also be happy to discuss a problem with you over the telephone.

When the Practice is closed, the care of our patients is passed over to NHS 111, which employs experienced Nurses and Doctors, who will evaluate your needs and provide the most appropriate medical care.

Information about all calls is passed back to the Practice as soon as we re-open to ensure continuity of care.

The service can be contacted by calling 111 or click www.111.nhs.uk
